Before Establishing Kamau Architects & Associates, Gachiku Kamau worked with some of the most reputable firms in the country, as well as the Capital Project Management Directorate at the Ministry of Works and Transport, as an architects and Project manager.

She is registered with the Namibia Council of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (NCAQS), is a member of the Project Management Institute International (PMI) and serves as an active Board member on the Namibia Institute of Architects (NIA).
